Mid/Long Term Weather Outlook – 23/03/2020

Q1 2020

 

The last update of the NOAA CFS v2 revised down April temperatures in Italy and the Continental Europe. Now temperatures are expected to be almost normal over the considered countries.

Temperatures almost unchanged in May. Monthly values are expected to be above normals. The lowest deviations are found in Spain and the UK. The highest anomaly is detected in Germany (+1,2 °C).

Above normal temperatures also in June with the greatest deviations found in Italy and the Continental Europe (+1,3/+1,5 °C). Values have been revised up with respect to the last Monday’s forecast in Italy, France and Spain.

Rainfall levels have been revised up for April in Italy and the Continental Europe that now show slightly above normals values. Near normal precipitations also in Spain and the UK.

Levels are almost unchanged in May except for Spain, revised up by 0,25 mm/day (now at +0,4 mm/day compared to normal). Almost normal values in Italy, Germany and the UK. France has a negative anomaly (-0,2 mm/day).

Italy shows normal rainfall levels in June, despite the downward correction (-0,1 mm/day). Negative anomalies in the Continental Europe and the UK. Spain continues to have above normal levels (+0,3 mm/day).
