Green Hydrogen Roadmap

The Spanish Government has approved the “Hydrogen Roadmap: a commitment to renewable hydrogen“. With this plan, the Government aims to guide the deployment of this sustainable energy vector as a key to achieve climate neutrality by 2050 at the latest.

The Road Map foresees an installed capacity of 4 GW electrolysers by 2030 together with several milestones in the industrial, mobility and electricity sectors. The objective is to reach a 25% of share of green hydrogen in industrial hydrogen consumption. As an intermediate milestone, the plan considers that, by 2024, it would be possible to reach between 300 and 600 MW of electrolysers capacity.

To achieve these objectives, it will be necessary to mobilize investments estimated at 8,900 million € between 2020 and 2030.
