Spot gas ES – 21/01/2021
Spanish spot gas prices go down due to the decrease in European gas prices and the decrease in demand. Lower power sector consumption push gas demand down.
Volume traded in DA contracts for delivery on the 21st amounts to 70.8 GWh. Total spot volumes traded on MIBGAS for delivery on the 20th amounted to 139.7 GWh, 12.2% of daily demand.
Spanish DA reference price for the 21st moves down to 24.58 €/MWh (-2.40 €/MWh) with respect to the previous day. Intraday auction price for the 21st decreases to 25.70 €/MWh (-2.59 €/MWh).
Demand forecast for the 21st decreases to 1,148 GWh (-85 GWh) with respect to previous day. Conventional demand goes down to 1,069 GWh (-62 GWh) and power sector demand decreases to 79 GWh (-23 GWh).
On the 20th, LNG inflows were 38% of total supply. Inflows from France amounted to 224 GWh (100% of interconnection capacity), 18% of total supply.
On the European gas markets: TTF end of day price for the 21st goes down to 20.00 €/MW (-0.24 €/MWh) and PEG decreases to 20.11 €/MWh (-0.24 €/MWh).
