Spot gas ES – 22/02/2021

Spanish spot gas prices move up due to the increase in demand. Higher power sector consumption pushes gas demand up.

Volume traded in DA contracts for delivery on the 22nd amounts to 10.3 GWh. Total spot volumes traded on MIBGAS for delivery on the 21st amounted to 128 GWh, 11.4% of daily demand.

Spanish DA reference price for the 22nd moves up to 16.28 €/MWh (+0.23 €/MWh) with respect to previous Friday. Intraday auction price for the 22nd increases to 16.27 €/MWh (+0.11 €/MWh).

Demand forecast for the 22nd increases to 1,120 GWh (+155 GWh) with respect to previous Friday. Conventional demand goes up to 972 GWh (+99 GWh) and Power Sector demand moves up to 148 GWh (+56 GWh).

On the 21st, LNG inflows were 35.7% of total supply. There were no inflows from France.

On the European gas markets: TTF end of day price for the 22nd decreases to 16.47 €/MWh (-0.54 €/MWh) and PEG price moves down to 16.32 €/MWh (-0.73 €/MWh).
