Spot gas ES – 08/03/2021
Spanish spot gas prices go up due to increasing European gas prices and high demand level in Spain. Demand goes up due to lower temperatures.
Volume traded in DA contracts for delivery on the 8th amounts to 18.5 GWh. Total spot volumes traded on MIBGAS for delivery on the 7th amounted to 60 GWh, 5.1% of daily demand.
Spanish DA reference price for the 8th goes up to 17.22 €/MWh (+1.09 €/MWh) with respect to previous Friday. Intraday auction price for the 8th increases to 17.00 €/MWh (+0.70 €/MWh).
Demand forecast for the 8th increases to 1,181 GWh (+102 GWh) with respect to previous Friday consolidated demand. Conventional demand goes up to 1,007 GWh (+74 GWh) and power sector demand moves up to 174 GWh (+28 GWh).
On the 7th, LNG inflows were 45% of total supply. There were no inflows from France.
On the European gas markets: TTF end of day price for the 8th increases to 16.80 €/MWh (+0.42 €/MWh) and PEG price moves up to 16.48 €/MWh (+0.37 €/MWh).
